In Memory of Alberto Marradi 

It is with great sadness that we mark the passing of Alberto Marradi, after a long illness borne throughout with great dignity, patience and humanity. A professor of Social Research Methodology at the universities of Bologna, Siena, Catania, Buenos Aires, Quito and Concepción, he taught longest at Florence, where he was Professor Emeritus.
He was long active in our RC33 community, serving as its Vice-President from 1982 to 1986 and remaining on its Board until 1991.
His very active life and his genuine collegial spirit led him to found and guide research networks, academic associations and scientific book series.
His impassioned work as a teacher and mentor was marked by a rigorous and critical conception of methodology, in which he trained several generations of students with generosity and dedication until the very end.
